Explore Davallia Fern Collection
Probably the first time introduced this specie in cultivation. Davallia angustata endemic to lower Peninsular Malaysia, occurring in primitive forest along stream and rather rare now due to ecology disturbance. It is a handsome epiphyt, with leathery, lancelate fronds rise from wiry creeping rhizomes.
This plant is a slow grower and seems resentful of fluctuations on wide cultural swings Perform best when mounted on slab of tree-fern with high quality sphagnum.
Offered are mature plants, established in 3" pot
This large species forms finely dissected fronds rise from large rhizome covered with short hair when young. Does exceedingly well in fairly dry compost under light shade and good air movement. Best suit for basket culture.
Offered are mature plants, established in 4" pot
A rarely seen species in cultivation native to Peninsular Malaysia, bearing hard and glossy divided fronds that can grow to 4" across, rise from hairy golden creeping rhizome attached only at base. Fronds also in attractive red-orange color in the juvenile stages.
This fern is best suited as a terrarium subject from low growing and small size. Never invasive nor rampant. Best when mounted on wooden plaques or wet vine branches.

This handsome fern is rarely seen in cultivation. It has hard and glossy deeply-toothed fronds rise from golden creeping rhizome. Sori occurs underside at margins. It is very best suited as a terrarium subject from low growing and small size. Perform well in very coarse, porous epiphyt potting mix, or mount on a tree-fern plaque with high quality sphagnum.

A small epiphytic fern with striking long red hairy rhizome attached only at the base, and pointed fronds that are in bright pink when young! The stunning sawtooth spore-bearing frond that rise occasionally. Does best when mounted on slab of tree-fern.

This pretty little variable species distribute in South-West Pacific. This offers cloned from specimens collected in Cameron Highlands, Peninsular Malaysia. It bears delicated, finely dissected fronds that can grow to just 1" across rise from wiry creeping rhizomes. Undersides of the leaves are covered with red brown scales.
Despite low growing, it seems easier to grow than Davallia repens. Does best in relatively high humidity under light shade.

A small species with hand-size, leathery, finely dissected fronds in deep green rise from brownish creeping rhizome. Easy grower. Once established, it tolerates for lower ideal humidity and some neglect. Best suit for basket culture

Rare cute little fern from Peninsular Malaysia. Davallia triphylla develops a nice clump over time, with glossy and leathery, deep green tripartite fronds. Similar to Davallia pentaphylla, the fronds are also red-orange when young! It spreads slowly by flatten brownish rhizome creeping well on sphagnum or wet vine branch.
Dost best under light shade and good air movement. Ideal for terrarium and humid greenhouse.

Collectible and unusual sport of the common Rabbit's Foot fern originated from Japan. Instead of spreading via long creeping rhizomes, this one forms fuzzy, cockscomb rhizomes, tending to be mount each other and become a caudex when mature. It is also hardy winter, though may rest (leafless) when temperature drops below 5 Celsius degrees. Best suit for both bonsai culture, woodland garden and terrarium. If grown as a terrarium plant, it is recommended for mount growing on rock or wet vine branches and do not allow the rhizomes overly wet.

Miniature New Guinean species with stunning long red hairy rhizome attached only at the base. The 3" dissected fronds rise along the rhizome and are in bright pink when young!
This epiphytic fern prefers a fairly decent amount of light, and to not be too wet. It seems to perform well when mounted on tree-fern plaques, or basket filled with high quality sphagnum, perlite and barks.

Elegant specie known from Northern Thailand. Current consensus suggests that it appears to be a new specie. It’s fairly compact grower bears leathery, finely dissected fronds in deep green banded in light yellow down to the center and the new growth is in deep pink. It spreads slowly by short stout rhizome and does not produce spores in cultivation. Prefer light shade and above average humidity. Ideal for basket culture, but should also do fairly well as a terrariums or vivarium plant - as long as it s not staying too wet.

Cute little epiphytic fern, probably the smallest specie in cultivation, with 1"-2" dissected fronds in deep green rise from wiry creeping rhizome spreads very well on wet vine branch or mossy rock. Sori occurs underside at margins.
Besides challenge and low growing, it is still one of the sought after terrarium ferns. Here they perform well in very coarse, porous epiphyt potting mix topped with high quality sphagnum.
