Key Climate
Since our plants came from various locations and cultivated in different conditions, it is easier for our customers to choose the right plants considering our climate markings on each item description.
W - Warm
The plants that occur at sea level up to 800 m. elevation. Generally require warm weather all year round, which is not below 20 Celsius degrees (68 Fahrenheit degrees) at night. Too cool weather stress their growth and often result in leaf damages. Humidity should also not below 60% with good air movement.
Climate
I - Intermediate
The plants that found between 900-1,900 m. elevation. Prefer moderate temperature; not exceed than 25 Celsius degrees (77 Fahrenheit degrees) day and not below 10 Celsius degrees (50 Fahrenheit degrees) at night, with relatively high humidity (70-90%) and good air movement.
Climate
I-W - Intermediate to Warm
The intermediate plants that are adaptable to warm condition. However, several plants are not fully heat-tolerances. This may reflect in smaller, blackened or dropping leaves and slower growth.
Climate
C-I - Cool to Intermediate
Climate
The plants from cool climate that are adaptable and thrive in intermediate climate.
C - Cool
Highland plants their habitat is over 2,000 m. elevation, in the cloud forest where covered with mist all day. This means the humidity is stable at high level (above 90%) and low light exposure. Most are hardy even in below freezing temperature. In vice versa they will be died back shortly after expose to heat and lower humidity, so not recommended for lowland condition.
Climate
X - Xeric
Xerophytic plant, which are species that occurred in a drought environment such as a desert or semi-Alpine climate. Generally they require different condition from other plants. Most have thick or succulent, or intense cutin-coated foliage to prevent sun burnt and evaporation in such environment. From this they are sensitive to overwater. In cultivation feeding liquid water one or twice a week is enough. Their morphos have developed and become heat tolerance--can survive even under direct sun, but require rather cool weather (best below 20 Celsius degrees (68 Fahrenheit degrees) at night.
