Vigorous Maidenhair fern with very stiff pinnaes on large, sturdy stems, reaching 10-15" and are also in deep purple when young. Well grown plants are spectacular, particularly when lots of new growth emerge.
It does best in peat based medium, with additional of small percentage (usually 10% by volume) of limestone chips to the mix. Trimming old, yellow fronds frequently promotes production of new growth.
