Angiopteris tonkinensis

$75.00

This extraordinary Marattia is the smallest Angiopteris fern of our collection! It was first discovered in Hainan, Southern China and later followed by a minority reported from Northern Vietnam. Its shiny, leathery, quinquefoliate develops from hairy petioles that shoot up to just 1-1.5 ft. above the rhizomes. The plant is small enough to grow in 6" deep pot and can easily see its spores when well grown.

Similar to Angiopteris lygodiifolia, this species is a fairly cold hardy. Lower temperatures also promote the pink color of the new growth!

It requires rich, well drained soils and grows best under light shade. Humidity should above average with good air movement. Demand lots of water once established.

Offered are starter plants, established in 6" pot
