Highly sought after specie Begonia from China! Begonia umbraculifolia is a closed-related species to Begonia arachnoidea, with peltate leaves and unique spiderweb of its veins undersides. Unlike the Arachnoidea, the Umbraculifolia can grow fairly larger and has more upward creeping rhizomes resembles a trailing species (both are rhizomatous).
Culturally, this species seems easier than the Arachnoidea, which is somewhat heat and pH shift sensitive species. Even so, we still recommend to add a roughly 10% ratio of limestone chips with the based potting medium.
Offered are starter plants, established in 3" pot
