Rare and endangered species and only one of the two species of this genus reported from the Philippines. Its growth habit is epiphyt on upper tree trunk with pseudostems, reaching 1.5-2 ft. tall. Stalks elongates from the growing tip with fragrant flowers in cream and the lower petal in deep orange color. Flowers bloom last about two week before developing to stunning orange capsules that split open to reveal seeds covered in a red aril.
In cultivation this species performs well in epiphyt mix, which is very coarse and porous. Relatively high humidity and good air movement is necessary so it seems best suited for basket culture.
Offered are starter, seed-grown plants, established in 3" pot
