An adorable and compact growing species originated from Japan. It bears very soft lime green fronds, each terminates with irregular crests. Full-grown plant resembles a lettuce that gives fresh feeling. Fronds also have heavily congested segments and are in over scale when compared with the wiry stems.
It needs excellent air movement to prevent rot and algae buildup in the interior of these thick multi-layered fronds. Regular pruning and fertilizing promotes growth and keep it in beautiful form.
